Wakku Community

Don’t just visit Malabar. Be part of it.

Walks, mornings, camps and evenings for people who live here and people passing through. Come once, or come every week.

Our community

Wakku began with people walking their own city together. The community is still the heart of it: locals first, visitors welcome, and everyone brings something.

Come as you are

No membership and no expertise needed. Curiosity is enough. Most gatherings are free or cost what it takes to run them.

Local first

We walk with neighbourhoods, not through them. Hosts, storytellers and venues are from the places we visit.

Everyone brings something

A memory, a recipe, a question, a photograph. The best gatherings are the ones where the group teaches itself.

Your story belongs here

Every place has a story. Some of them are yours.

A grandmother’s recipe, a street that has changed, a shop that has closed, a boat your family built. Tell us, and we may follow it for Wakku Stories, with you.

We always ask before publishing anything, and we credit the people whose stories we tell.
